Pomp And Circumstance

A Broad Abroad – Paris!

Posted in A Broad Abroad, Fashion Files, Pomp Day-By-Day by Miss Pomp on October 4, 2012

After London we took the Chunnel to Paris (that sucker goes FAST). We spent our first full day in Paris trying to do all the “touristy things,” knowing that we wanted to see those things (the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Champs-Elysees), but also wanted to spend the majority of our time ambling, EATING, and just enjoying ourselves.

I had gelato twice a day. I mean EVERY DAY.

In fact, I ate so much gelato (and pasta, and bread, and wine, and cheese) I grew nervous I would be shaped like this by the end of the trip…

We spent time in areas that were lovely for lounging…

And saw the lady herself…

Honestly, I hope I never grow up – because things like this are still my favorite…

After spending day one on all the “You should really see” sights, we spent time wandering around and eating good food and drinking good wine. We stopped by Montmartre more than once, and ate LARGE and delicious hot dogs…

and spent an evening picnicking in front of the Eiffel Tower. It was one of the coldest nights, and we were FREEZING, but it is one of my favorite memories of the trip – snuggling close to each other to keep warm, drinking wine and laughing with one another.

And while we were quite freezing, it was worth the wait, and the shivering, when this moment happened:

You’re thinking, “Oh no, she’s already done talking about Paris?  I haven’t been this disappointed since Jen and Brad split up!” but not to worry, our best day around Paris is yet to come! Check back for a couple pics from our awesome bike tour of Versailles!

Hi! we are about to travel to Paris in 2 weeks, and loved reading your post and seeing your pics 🙂 It’s exactly the kind of plan we have in mind 🙂 Any recommendations on things not to miss? Food, places, etc. would be really welcome! Thank you!
