Three Nights – Three Christmas Parties: Part 1

This weekend husby and I had three, yes THREE, Christmas parties to attend. We had a blast, but boy am I tired. I’ve decided that I would never be a good socialite, I need like 9 hours of sleep or I am just exhausted. So, while I would love to be a lady who dances all night long many nights in a row, I just can’t hang.

This was Friday night for husby’s company Christmas Party, and let me tell you, those folks know how to do a party in style. They picked us up and dropped us back off in a limo, A LIMO!

She Had Lips Of Cherry Red

One thing I love about the holiday season is the opportunity to get all dolled up and go out (not something that happens often in my sleepy beach town). On this particular night, the husby and I were heading to his company Christmas party. As I was in no mood for a sparkly wintery dress, I slipped on some masculine pickings from my closet (and one from his), and added a bright red lip for a feminine kick.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Long And Long Of It

(Shirt – Anthropologie, Skirt, Necklace, and Shoes – Forever 21)

This is me, channeling a nun, or some other fairly prudish individual – with drapey, extremely modest clothing- and then slipping in a little bit o’ crazy with my leopard platforms.

Leopard platforms which, coincidentally, I happen to be selling since I upgraded to a slightly more comfortable pair of leopard Jeffrey Campbell platforms during a city-air-induced shoe shopping binge. More to come on that subject…

I have been eyeing a leopard fedora at JCrew.com for about 2 months now, willing it to go on sale.  Said fedora was $118. Gross.

Low and behold, I found this look alike for, count with me, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7….$8!

That’s right, folks, $8 at Forever 21. Don’t mind if I do!

Check out these KILLER leopard wedges I picked up at Forever 21!  $35 of pure awesomeness stacked on top of 5 inches!

This sweater is also a great find I picked up recently at H&M…$15 and cozy as can be!  AND! It comes in many colors – one for every day of the week – wink, wink!

Downtown, Things Will Be Great When We’re…DOWNTOWN!

(Shoes – Sam Edelman, Top – Anthropologie, Shorts – F21, Socks – Marc By Marc Jacobs, Monogram Mug – Anthropologie)

Snapped a pic while dropping my (incredibly handsome, intelligent, and funny) husband off at work downtown the other day. Check out these awesome new shorts I bought at Forever 21!  I have been wanting a pair of leather shorts, but was pretty unwilling to spend an arm and a leg on them – which consequently is what leather shorts cost.

Except these – which are fake leather, but feel pretty dang real for the $14 I spent on them.

Holla!

Jeffrey Campbell Fall/Winter 2010

Posted in Fashion Files, Inspiration by Miss Pomp on July 4, 2010

As you may have noticed, I have a thing for Jeffrey Campbell, let’s call it a “Style Crush”.  If I were a fourteen-year-old girl, I would blush every time a pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes walked passed me in the hallway between 2nd and 3rd period.  I have a crush.

Anywho, today, I was checking out the Jeffrey Campbell Fall/Winter 2010 lookbook and I wanted to share some of my favorite shoes and images:

Some trends I’m jumping on board with:

*Platforms – the taller the better

*Leopard

*Military inspired booties

*Black – a girl can never have too many tall black shoes!

*Lace-up clogs

What trends are you excited about this upcoming season?
