The Moment I Realized There Was A Strawberry Bar Hanging Off My Butt

You ever have one of those moments when you are outlet shopping with your sister and your nephews, and you stop by Walmart to get some school supplies for your nephews, and you’ve been walking through the store for about 40 minutes, and are just finishing up and walking out when you run your hand over your bum to smooth your shorts, and realize that there has been a giant chunk of strawberry bar hanging off your butt the whole time?

No?  Me neither….

Growing Our Own Grub

Posted in Fashion Files, Food Files, Inspiration, Pomp Day-By-Day by Miss Pomp on July 16, 2012

About 5 weeks ago, husband and I put a few garden beds in the backyard and started growing our own veggies. I can’t even tell you how great it is to just walk in the backyard to get lettuce for salads when it’s time for lunch. AND, check out the last pic below, there is totes a tomato in that photo people. It’s little, but I promise it’s there.

And, this next one is the face I made when the neighbors cats started doing it right on the other side of the fence while I was watering the above-mentioned veggies.

I love summer. Even though I’m not in school anymore, there is something that just feels vacation-y about summer. This weekend  hubs and the besties (that’s the female half of besties in the last pic above – she and her twin sis are AMAHZING photographers, check them out here) and I took an impromptu trip up to Soquel Vineyards, and subsequently became members of their wine club! The grounds are beautiful, the weather is amazing and warm up there, and I’m looking forward to lots of afternoons spent wine tasting and lounging in the sun this summer!

Rain Rain Go Away….No Seriously Though

Posted in Fashion Files, Inspiration, Pomp Day-By-Day by Miss Pomp on March 13, 2012

Don’t you just hate when a day starts out all warm and sunny and wonderful…

And then ends all foggy and cold with a forecast for 10 days of rain up ahead?

(Pants – Anthropologie last seen here, Tank – J. Crew)

The weather is downright ticking me off. It keeps being all “YAY! Spring is here!  Don’t you just feel so joyous and happy to be alive?!”  And I’m all “YES!” and then it immediately starts raining.

Weather is a fickel mistress, my friends.

Just Like A Circus

I picked up these crazy pants a couple months ago during a thrift store parade that Miss C and I went on from Santa Cruz to San Jose and back. They are such a bold print that it took me a while to work myself up to wearing them. I believe what I said to husband before I left for the day was:

“So…Do I look like a normal person, or a person that probably works at the circus?”

Whether the answer is the former or the latter, I decided I love them either way, and they shall henceforth be known as my “Party pants.” So I if you invite me to a party, be prepared, cause I’m gonna show up wearing these babies.

Mixing Leopards

I didn’t realize until I started this post, but I’m pretty much wearing head-to-toe J. Crew here (except for a couple of accessories.)

I have long been a huge fan of Anthropologie, but lately I’ve been leaning more towards the simple separates from J. Crew that can be mixed and matched in a ton of different ways. I realize that not everyone would think leopard is a “simple” separate – but I do.

The leopard top is the dress I wore here, tucked in.  I just love pieces that are like little chameleons and can be worn in a bunch of different ways.

That’s what my friend said when I got to work the other day…

And I decided I liked it, so henceforth I shall only dress like desserts.

Only kidding…kind of.

Three Nights – Three Christmas Parties: Part 2

On Saturday night husby and I attended the Wylie Weddings  1-year anniversary party with our fabulous friends Amy and Cole. Check out the Wylie Weddings Website…they’re awesome. And yes, that’s husby and I on the front page…BAM!  Totes famous, people!

The party was at Bocci Cellar in Downtown Santa Cruz…the type of dive-bar that the same 15 guys from the neighborhood hang out at EVERY DAY for the entire year….needless to say, I felt slightly out of place when we walked in and all 15 said-men in plaid shirts got suddenly silent and stared at us as we walked to the back patio. The back patio was AWESOME.  It was covered and heated (thank the Lord), and has two bocce courts to play on for free all the time. Bocce Ball? Yes please. I LOVE bocce…or anything else competitive for that matter.

Thank you Katie for a very FUN evening!

“Titi, I Really Hope Your Dress Doesn’t Fly Away”

My cousin Ali got married this weekend in Pebble Beach, and it was the most stunningly beautiful wedding location! The ceremony took place just outside of a stucco spanish style house right on the ocean, which made for great photo ops.

I bought this dress when sis and I went to the city about a month ago, and have just been waiting for the right time to take it out. It’s so comfortable and glamorous, and the length combined with the bold color is so striking.

It was VERY windy that day, and due to the flowy nature of my dress, my 3-year-old nephew was quite concerned the dress was just going to up and fly away.

It did not.

I was happy it did not.

Got these awesome SUPER FLARE jeans and printed top on our most recent sisters-in-the-city trip a couple weekends ago. I went into the day with a pretty strict list of what I was looking for:

1) A pair of Super Flare Jeans

2) More pairs of flat sandals

3) Prints

4) Color, color, color!!

With the ever-so-stylish Ashley of Love Letters stomping through many a shop and many a dressing room with us, I feel like I came home with everything on my list, and SHOCKINGLY nothing extraneous!!! Let me tell you, that is nothing short of the miraculous!

I’ll share more of my city purchases in the days and weeks to come!
